The 2012 Oscars saw more daring hairstyles and colours than ever before, with a number of retro nods to times gone by. Echoing the golden era Angelina Jolie and Glenn Close opted for curls, whilst Sandra Bullock, Gwyneth Paltrow and Rooney Mara were seen sporting a much sleeker look.
Jason Cocking, director of Lisa Shepherd London and celebrity hairstylist (whose previous clients have included Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen among others) gives his verdict on last year's most notable looks.

I don't understand the hype or adminiration over Gwyneth Paltrow. She seems to land in best dressed list yet her style has always been blah.......boring and washed out . She may have some talent but she has always been one of the more over rated Hollywood stars who get thumbs up all the time! Or maybe, she's one of the few who is simply too nice to be ignored.
