Proud Brit Rod Stewart showed off his CBE during an appearance on a US chat show on Monday.
The Maggie May singer, who was honoured for his services to music by the Queen in 2007, reached into his pocket and pulled out his CBE medal during an interview with chat show king Jay Leno.
"I'm so proud of it, that's why I brought it along," Stewart told Leno after asking the host to try his award on.
Keen soccer player Stewart also revealed that his wife Penny Lancaster ran onto the pitch during a game at his home last weekend.
He said: "I played yesterday and I scored a goal for the first time in six years. My wife ran on the pitch and hugged me. It was a very emotional moment."
The 64-year-old star performed It's The Same Old Song, a 1965 single recorded by The Four Tops for the Motown label.
It's one of a number of soul classics that feature on Stewart's new album, Soulbook, out this week.
Stewart is "just in the middle of planning touring" in support of the new record with dates expected for 2010.
