For years, mom-of-14 Nadya Suleman has been adamant she doesn't want to pimp out her kids on reality TV, telling The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2010 that "a parent must provide for their kids, not the other way around."

While her strong stance against going the Jon & Kate Plus 8 route is certainly admirable, it's ultimately led her children into a far darker reality, one that has seen their mother file for bankruptcy, prostitute herself through online porn and just this week check into rehab for an addiction to prescription drugs.

Could chronicling a few play-dates and hectic family mealtimes really be that much worse?

"Nadya wanted to get off the Xanax she was prescribed by her doctor and learn to deal with her stress, exhaustion and anxiety with professional help with a team of doctors," her rep told TMZ. "Nadya wanted to deal with her issues and make sure she is the best mother she can be."

Suleman's quest to be the best mother she can be - providing for her kids while keeping them off the airwaves - has become a more disastrous train wreck with each passing day.

RadarOnline posted audio from the Octomom's father in which he expresses concern about his daughter drinking and driving with his grandchildren, all while a former nanny insists she's seen the 37-year-old hide vodka in water bottles.

These disturbing reports come after repeated accusations of child neglect and photos which surfaced revealing Suleman's home to be overrun with garbage and in complete disarray.

And while last month the single mom proudly showed off her family's new digs, the impressive property has come at a price, purchased with funds from her burgeoning career in the adult industry, escalated from risqué photo shoots and stripping gigs.

But most disturbing are reports at least one of the Octomom's sons was caught viewing a video online of his mother masturbating. Certainly this would be far more traumatizing than a few cameras around the house?!

There's no doubt Suleman's questionable career decisions will have far-reaching implications on her kids, something she was so intent on avoiding in the first place with a reality show.

The substance abuse issues brought on by the stress and anxiety of trying to raise a family of 14 on her own are bound to be mirrored down the road in her children, all conceived through obsessive IVF treatments over a period of eight years while Suleman was broke and single.

It's time the Octomom swallowed her pride and admitted a lucrative reality TV gig may actually be the healthier decision for her family, because really, do they have any privacy at this point anyway?
