MONTREAL - Films starring Helena Bonham Carter, Judy Davis, Brent Butt, Beatrice Dalle and Amy Smart are among the projects receiving more than $11 million in Telefilm Canada funds.

The federal funding agency says it handed out $11.2 million to eight English-language feature-film projects for the second fiscal quarter of 2012-2013.

They include the France-Canada co-production "The Selected Works of T.S. Spivet," written and directed by "Amelie" co-writer and director Jean-Pierre Jeunet.

Carter and Davis star in this tale about a 12-year-old genius who becomes a sensation with a "perpetual movement invention."

Meanwhile, Butt and Smart team up with director Carl Bessai for the comedy "No Clue," where a bumbling salesman pretends to be a private detective; and Dalle stars in writer-director Bruce LaBruce's "Gerontophilia," about an 18-year-old who gets a summer job in a nursing home.

Also getting funds is "Shana — The Wolf's Music," a Switzerland-Canada co-production about a 13-year-old aboriginal girl with an extraordinary ability to play the violin.
