Wahlberg plays John Bennett, a man whose best friend is a living teddy bear he has owned since childhood, in the hit 2012 movie.
His daughters Ella, nine, and three year old Grace were delighted when their father landed a role opposite a talking teddy, but he has vowed never to let them see the film because of its crass jokes.
The Boogie Nights star tells U.K. talk show host Graham Norton, "They're thinking, 'Daddy, finally there is a movie with you and a teddy bear and you're laughing and having fun.' Clearly Ted is really inappropriate and my wife is very conservative. I'm thinking, '(When) the boys are eight and nine, we'll show them' and she's like, '(Not until they're) 24, 25 and we're never showing our daughters,' which I completely agree with."
