Aerosmith, one of the greatest rock bands of all time, unleashes the new "Guitar Hero: Aerosmith" videogame with a press conference and a heavily-attended-by-fans VIP launch party at Hard Rock Cafe, Times Square, NYC.
Steven Tyler has quit Aerosmith, according to the group's guitarist, Joe Perry.
The singer has said he is ready to work on solo material, and the rest of the band are now said to be considering their options.
Perry said: "Steven quit as far as I can tell. I got off the plane two nights ago. I saw online that Steven said that he was going to leave the band. I don't know for how long, indefinitely or whatever."
Perry also tells the Las Vegas Sun that Tyler often refuses to talk to other band members.
He added: "He's notorious for that. That's one thing I've learned to live with. I try to overlook it. I like to pick my battles.
"Frankly, the last few months I've been wanting not to rock the boat. I don't want him cancelling any more gigs. We really wanted to do these last four. We just kind of didn't want to get him any more p***ed off, for whatever reason."

Yes, and dearly so...the other members are working on solo albums (or did in the past without an eyebrow raised) Kudos to him and looking forward to what can come from it. A hiatus is usually good for the long term and when they (Aerosmith) regroup... It will be awesome.
Regards to the band and best wishes to all.
