Matt Smith plans trip to Hollywood to pursue movie career
Matt Smith leaves the Radio 1 studios in London after appearing on the Chris Moyles show talking about Dr Who.
Doctor Who star Matt Smith has planned a trip to Hollywood to pursue a film career.
Smith, who currently stars in the sci-fi show, has revealed that he is hoping to make his mark in the movies.
The 28-year-old told British newspaper the Daily Mirror: "I'm going over to Los Angeles this week to dip my head in the pond.
"I am going to be having loads of meetings with film people and that sort of stuff.
"I have a lot of ambitions. I would like one day to direct and I just want to keep doing quality work. LA is kinda groovy - I really like it out there."
Matt will audition for roles which could make him a star across the world.
But he is aware that many British stars who head to the States hoping to make it big, end up failing.
He added: "I take each day as it comes. You can only try your best and see what rubs off.
"Would I get a big part, who knows? Sadly, that is not up to me.
"That all depends on people in the American film industry and whether they want to put me there. But I certainly won't complain if that happens."
