Paul Epworth clears up comments about speedy Skyfall recording
The Rolling in the Deep hitmaker was approached by Epworth to sing the Bond theme tune earlier this year (12) and Adele fell in love with the track as soon as she heard it.
Epworth was quoted in the press as saying, "Within 10 minutes, she put down most of the vocals. She had the lyrics ready in her head when she drove over. It was the most absurd thing. She's fast, but it was really quite phenomenal."
However, the producer has since reached out to fans to clean up the claims, because he wasn't talking about the final version of the song.
Taking to his Twitter.com blog on Tuesday (18Dec12), he writes, "Ok ok. Can I clarify this. Adele didn't record her final skyfall vocal in 10 minutes. We cut the first draft of the verse and chorus. It took us a while to hone the track into the end result. Don't you just love it when things are taken out of context."
The pair's hard work has already paid off - they landed a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Song last week (ends16Dec12) and Skyfall is on the shortlist for the Best Song competitors for the 2013 Academy Awards.
