Fur, leather, food, soap, cosmetics. Just some of the many ways we use / abuse animals. I'm wondering how many PETA fanatics adopt cows, chickens, etc. Without a domestic market these animals would surely be on the endangered list. Perhaps we need these celebrities to purchase vast tracks of land where these animals can live in peace.....of course they'd have to find some way of "peacefully" keeping the predators at bay. I'm sure given the choice a domestic animal would prefer the slaughterhouse to wolves, coyotes, bears and of course vehicular traffic. In the wild, free world few animals die of "old Age". If they do live long enough to lose the use of their teeth, they are abandoned by the rest of their kind and "sacrificed" to the predators. Nature is wonderful, but by no means peaceful and humane.

I do totally agree with adopting pets as opposed to purchasing. All my pets have been already born and in need of a home. No puppy mills will ever benefit from a market benefitting from my demand.

Even my children are adopte****od deal of our problems stem from over population. Yet I don't see a lot being done about it. How about celebs sponsoring birth control for the poor? Cudos to those who choose to adopt.

Enough of my rambling, if you don't agree, I'm ok with that. We're all entitled to our opinions.

I usually don't feel the need to weigh in with my comments and opinions, however after perusing other comments and realizing what redneck cognitively challenged hillbillies there are in this world... I have to say GO PAM GO!  You are MY hero personally.  I think that standing up for what you believe in is truly honorable.  Someone needs to stand up for those who cannot stand up for themselves and they have a damn good ambassador.  Shame on Kim Kardashian, Beyonce, J-Lo to name a few fur wearing ego maniacs.  You go PAM.  Karma will always support those who do good in this world and you keep up the good work!!!!

That's all very nice except you may have wanted to add to the ads "and hurt the Inuit". The Inuit do not hunt seals for huge commercial ventures but this type of thing by people who generally know nothing about the arctic or the  Inuit, hurts them. Many communitesI have major food problems due the prices being high ( e.g. $8 for 2 litres of milk) and they rely on animals to survive. I am not sure what the difference is between using leather from a steer for shoes, pigskin from a pig, for footballs or seal skin for a wallet is. It is sad that people take up causes who have no idea of what the fiull implications of their actions are. The Inuit should be given an apology for this.

'I like to wear Arctic fox fur and things made from Seal skin.'Well i like to wear human skin so if i get the chance i may just skin you or some of your loved ones alive, and drape myself in your torture and misery. you obviously don't care so nor do i. Have a look at 'chinese fur farms' on youtube they supply 80% of the worlds demand for fur coats, other fur garments and fur trim to shallow uncaring fools like you. If you want to keep these farms going keep buying and parading around in them. But decent intelligent people say 'This is not acceptable or needed  in the 21st century'  Well done Bethenny Frankel, a good strong sexy and highly desirable modern woman. TOP ROLE MODEL, 10/10

The sad part is, this isn't going to change. They can get as many stars and sexy women as they want to pose and support their cause but its not going to help them too much. Joe public is aware of animal cruelty, that fur is murder and I'm sure a lot of people would love to be vegetarians. All that these people can do is create awareness and I think sometimes they lose sight of that. They've done a fine job and yes they need to keep up with trendy ways of getting the word out there but I would like to see more involvement with the younger generation because a lot of these are directed to an older demographic. When I was in junior high there were clever posters everywhere in the halls that made me want to become a vegetarian and gain knowledge about the horrible crimes towards animals. Yet my sisters are only a few years younger and I doubt they can even tell you what PETA stands for because all of their friends just laugh and go listen to the newest justin beiber song. Any company knows that the younger demographic is the one to hit because they are the most susceptible to new ideas and even if its just a phase, this is such a big political and controversial topic that once they have that knowledge they are going to pick up more in the news, online, even just riding the bus. We must also respect that for a lot of people, eating meat is actually just plain easier. I am no longer a vegetarian. Why? Because I have a husband who is a carnivore and a son who is just like his father. Granted, its very rare that I eat nearly as much animal products as anyone else I know but sometimes it is both easier and cheaper to throw another beef burger on the BBQ then a soy based one. It is very rare that anything vegetarian is cheaper then the animal product. Its just like vending machines. Am I really going to buy the small juice that is double the price for a large soda, probably not. As for the Inuits, yes, as with everything there are exceptions. It is like certain aboriginals being allowed to hunt whales in the traditional ways. If we can not change the prices or the acceptability of resources then we cannot claimo that being humane to animals is worth removing other humans' best chance of survival.
