The sad part is, this isn't going to change. They can get as many stars and sexy women as they want to pose and support their cause but its not going to help them too much. Joe public is aware of animal cruelty, that fur is murder and I'm sure a lot of people would love to be vegetarians. All that these people can do is create awareness and I think sometimes they lose sight of that. They've done a fine job and yes they need to keep up with trendy ways of getting the word out there but I would like to see more involvement with the younger generation because a lot of these are directed to an older demographic. When I was in junior high there were clever posters everywhere in the halls that made me want to become a vegetarian and gain knowledge about the horrible crimes towards animals. Yet my sisters are only a few years younger and I doubt they can even tell you what PETA stands for because all of their friends just laugh and go listen to the newest justin beiber song. Any company knows that the younger demographic is the one to hit because they are the most susceptible to new ideas and even if its just a phase, this is such a big political and controversial topic that once they have that knowledge they are going to pick up more in the news, online, even just riding the bus. We must also respect that for a lot of people, eating meat is actually just plain easier. I am no longer a vegetarian. Why? Because I have a husband who is a carnivore and a son who is just like his father. Granted, its very rare that I eat nearly as much animal products as anyone else I know but sometimes it is both easier and cheaper to throw another beef burger on the BBQ then a soy based one. It is very rare that anything vegetarian is cheaper then the animal product. Its just like vending machines. Am I really going to buy the small juice that is double the price for a large soda, probably not. As for the Inuits, yes, as with everything there are exceptions. It is like certain aboriginals being allowed to hunt whales in the traditional ways. If we can not change the prices or the acceptability of resources then we cannot claimo that being humane to animals is worth removing other humans' best chance of survival.
