A group named the Gangster Disciples released a video message earlier this week (begs03Dec12) warning the Maybach Music boss his presence is not welcome in the state.
The hip-hop star has now called off two gigs, but his representative has not confirmed whether the incidents are linked.
Ross' Friday night (07Dec12) performance in Greensboro has been cancelled, while his Saturday (08Dec12) concert in Charlotte has also been scrapped.
According to local news outlet WCNC, no reason has been given for the axed dates, which were also set to feature Meek Mill, Wale and Machine Gun Kelly.
The star's Sunday night (09Dec12) show in Nashville, Tennessee is scheduled to go ahead as planned.
