Hulk Hogan Wanted To Play Bass For Metallica, Rolling Stones
Before he was a pro wrestler, Hulk Hogan used to play bass for varioius Florida-based rock bands. The Hulkster had bigger musical ambitions, though. Specifically, he wanted to play with Metallica and The Rolling Stones .
The Chicago Tribune recently interviewed the wrestler about his recently released autobiography, My Life Outside The Ring . It's his second memoir, following 2003's Hollywood Hulk Hogan . During the interview, he told the newspaper that he would have left wrestling to play bass in the two aforementioned bands — if only someone had taken him seriously.
"I was in England presenting an award with Jerry Hall, Mick Jagger's ex, and she told me the [Rolling] Stones were looking for a bass player," Hogan told The Chicago Tribune . "I sent her a ton of merchandise that she asked for and said, 'Tell Mick I'm a great bass player.' I never heard a word back.
"When Metallica was looking for a bass player, I called and never heard a word back from them either. I would have quit wrestling in a heartbeat to b a bass player for Metallica."
Truthfully, we can picture Hogan more as a member of Metallica, but he'd probably have to give up the red and yellow feather boas.
