Canadian party-starters Dragonette have been baking in the underground pop scene for the past few years, only rising to finally say "Hello" in 2010 with the Martin Solveig cooperative smash. Since then, the electro-poppers riotous blend of catchy synths has slowly seeped across dance floors and seas, as the trio found favour in Europe and Australia.

This week, Dragonette will face some heavy competition when their third studio album, Bodyparts, is released on September 25 alongside heavyweights Green Day, No Doubt and Deaudmau5 (more on the dragon and mouse chase later). But helmed by the imitable Martina Sorbara, the daughter of a former Minister of Finance in Ontario and an all-round girl crush for music fans, our bet is that Dragonette will slay the competition.
