O-Town
Formed on the initial season of Making the Band (during the golden pre-Diddy days), O-Town was the first boy-band created right in front of our eyes by sleazy obese music mogul Lou Pearlman. Releasing two albums at the end of the boy-band craze, the group failed to achieve the success of either the Backstreet Boys or 'N SYNC, eventually disbanding in 2003. All the members would try their hand at solo careers, with the baby-faced Ashley Angel finding success with his album Soundtrack to Your Life (helped by his own MTV show entitled There and Back). More recently, Angel won rave reviews as Link Larkin in the Broadway production of Hairspray, while ex-bandmate Erik-Michael Estrada revamped his lifestyle and joined the U.S. Army.
