Songs about girls have always been popular, and "Ruby," by English pop act Kaiser Chiefs, is no exception. Taken from their second album, 2007's "Yours Truly, Angry Mob," "Ruby" has become an unlikely sports anthem, being championed by several British soccer teams, including Manchester United, Chelsea, Fulham and Celtic.
The track's popularity even crossed the Atlantic, being played at the end of the NFL's New York Giants playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Chalk up some of its popularity to the simple "Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, Ruby" chorus and dryly humorous lyrics about unreciprocated love. We would have voted for the band's "Never Miss a Beat" personally.
