I love the Mentalist.....it being moved to Sunday really irked me though as it is one of the better shows.  Some of the other detective shows are so violent and that is what they focus on not the characters like Jane and that crew.  It is still better than that silly Sherlock Holmes knock off.

I watch the Mentalist because Jane seems like a updated, smart-ass version of Columbo.
The writers give you enough info to figure out who the criminal is if you pay attention to the clues and images presented throughout the show (not just the last 10 minutes).
I find the supporting cast sometimes unnecessary but I suppose they're used as filler while the main info is put in the Jane scenes(someone has to carry a gun). The writers have to fill the hour somehow.

Love the Mentalist. Jane and all of the other characters too. Much less violent than other police shows.I like NCIS and the spin off as well. I prefer the Los Angelos one but enjoy both. I don't like CSI since the changes. I stopped watching it a few years ago. I like Suits and White Collar that Bravo is showing now . I liked Bones but can never find it anymore. These are really the only shows I watch anymore except for the stations that run some of the older shows such as Doe Busiak and Missing.

Love Jane and the show, and he's not hard to look at either. Love his quirky way he gets under peoples skin. It's a nice mix of humour, suspense, action and look forward to his daily punch in the nose.

I watch " The Mentalist" because I like the subkime and ridiculous, but, also for the whole crew. They are so wiley and funny in their own way. I find that Jane is extravagant but, hey, that's his character. I watch theprogram every day, and, in no way am I going to syop, just because you don't like one character. I wanted to do it with NCIS when they had the other female agent, can' t remember her name, she wasn' t there long/too long, then I realized that, I'd be missing all the others, so I continued watching, haven't regretted it once...Don't punish the actors (all others) for the ONE...

I've always felt the Mentalist was a bit of a jackass & if any other cop show is on at the same time I'll watch the other show.
